HM Queen's Visit 1968

On the 16th May 1968 Her Majesty the Queen was visiting Lancashire and Cheshire and travelled in her motorcade from the Dukenhalgh Hotel, through Padiham, to the Mitre and along Trafalgar Street and Centenary Way to St. Peter's Church where she met invited guests involved in Operation Spring Clean.

The headline in the Burnley Express Royal Visit Souvenir of the 17th May reads "Royal Tribute to Burnley's Bright Image".
