HM Queen's Visit 1987

On Thursday 12th November 1987 the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh came to town for a unique "double". They arrived at Manchester Road Station and the Queen travelled to the Mechanics Arts Centre for a tour of the recently refurbished building. The Duke of Edinburgh travelled to the Advanced Music Systems premises on the Rossendale Road Industrial Estate which he had specifically asked to visit.
