The Brian Hall Collection
Brian Hall (1936-2024) was a history graduate of Manchester University and a retired teacher. As chair of the Friends of the Weavers' Triangle, a society dedicated to the preservation of Burnley's industrial heritage, he spent much of his time helping to run its Visitor Centre. He was the author of a number of publications on local history, treasurer of the Burnley and District Historical Society and a valued member of Burnley Civic Trust and will be sadly missed by all his friends. Brian contributed photographs to this page which were taken during the redevelopment of the town centre in the 1970s/80s plus archive images of Lowerhouse and the Padiham Road area, in which he had a special interest.
We are delighted that Brian has left his considerable archive of historic photographs to the Civic Trust, many of which will be added to this page.
